Concert tickets, one specific pair of sneakers, driving lessons: almost everyone is saving for something. The problem is rarely the pocket money itself, it is that the money vanishes without a trace. The fix fits on one page: a plan with three jars. And AI is very good at helping you set it up.

One thing straight away: the AI does the math and brings order, but the decisions are yours. It does not know how much that concert matters to you or where you can cut back without being miserable. You do.

The three jars

  • Spend: the week's money for everyday stuff, going out, small treats. Spent without guilt.
  • Save: a small cushion for surprises, a gift, something that breaks. No fixed goal.
  • Goal: the jar for the concert, the sneakers or the lessons. Nothing comes out of here until you arrive.

Let the AI do the math

Copy this prompt
I get [AMOUNT] of pocket money per week and I am saving for [GOAL], which costs about [PRICE]. Help me split my money into three jars: spend, save and goal. Work out how many weeks I would need with two or three different splits, and suggest milestones along the way so I stay motivated. Do not decide for me: show me the options with their pros and cons.
  • Celebrate the milestones: at 25, 50 and 75 percent something small is in order, even if it is just a photo of the jar.
  • Do a five minute check-in once a month: did the split work? Adjust the shares without drama and keep going.
  • If the plan stretches over too many months, you have two levers: trim the spend jar a little (a small amount per week adds up) or earn extra with small jobs at home or around the neighborhood.

FAQ

What if my pocket money is not fixed?

The model still works: split by percentages instead of amounts. In a good week all three jars grow; in a lean week you still split. The AI works out the percentages in a minute.

What happens if I take money out of the goal jar?

Nothing terrible, but write it down and have the AI recalculate the date at the monthly check-in. Seeing the concert move two weeks further away works better than any lecture.
