What data we process and why
We only process personal data when you provide it voluntarily through one of these features:
- Newsletter: your email address, language and a record of your consent (date and version). Purpose: to send you the newsletter. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), with double opt-in. Unsubscribe with one click in every email.
- "Comparte" wall: a nickname, an age band, the country, a title and a text. We do not ask for the sender's email. Purpose: publishing contributions after human review. Legal basis: consent. Everything is reviewed before it is published.
- School (access for educational institutions): contact name, email, institution, town and message. Purpose: handling the access request. Legal basis: pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Ratings and email contact: the data you include in your message, to reply to you.
Visit statistics
We log visits in pseudonymised form on our own server: date and time, city/region/country (from Cloudflare's geolocation headers), operating system, language and pages viewed. The IP address is never stored; unique visitors are counted via a non-reversible hash that rotates every day. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We honour the "Do Not Track" signal.
Third parties and transfers
The site runs behind Cloudflare, Inc. (CDN, Turnstile anti-spam and cookieless web analytics). Cloudflare is based in the USA and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; standard contractual clauses (SCCs) additionally serve as a safeguard. Email is sent from [email protected]. Fonts are served locally, with no calls to external providers.
Minors
Some content is aimed at families with children. The "Comparte" wall is meant to be used with a responsible adult, who gives permission, and every submission is reviewed before publishing. We do not request personal data from children, and the newsletter requires you to be 14 or older.
Cookies and storage
We use no tracking or advertising cookies. We store your language preference and settings in the browser's local storage (localStorage). Cloudflare Turnstile may set a technical security cookie. None of this requires a consent banner.
Retention
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Access requests and messages are kept as long as needed to handle them. Statistics rotate continuously.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and restrict processing, and to data portability. Write to us at [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; for us this is the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, aepd.es).
