Design your own avatar or logo with AI, without copying anyone

Describe your style and what you want to say, let the AI propose, then keep tweaking until it is truly yours.

An avatar or a logo is not just a nice picture. It is the first thing that says who you are before you say a word: on your profile, on a class project, on your band's cover. AI is brilliant at this, but only if you are the one steering. The better you explain who you are, the less generic it comes out.

The prompt

Copy this prompt
You are a graphic designer. Suggest three different ideas for a [WHAT IT IS, for example avatar or logo] for [WHAT IT IS FOR]. Three words that describe me: [3 WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU]. Colors: [COLORS]. Style: [STYLE, for example minimalist, retro, futuristic]. For each idea, explain the shape, the colors and why it fits me.

Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Do not stop at the first answer: that is where the real work starts. Ask it to mix idea one with the color from two, to make it simpler, to try it without text. If your tool makes images, generate it and keep adjusting. Iterating is exactly what a professional designer does.

To make it yours

  • Keep the version you would still recognize tiny and in black and white.
  • Test the same logo in a circle and a square: it has to work in both.
  • Save three keywords of your style to reuse in future designs.

FAQ

Can I use this logo commercially?

Check your tool's terms and avoid looking like existing brands. For anything serious, it is worth having a human review it.

What if every idea looks the same?

Give it more specific input: a hobby, an object that represents you, a feeling. The more specific, the more distinctive it gets.
